There are many benefits of a fiber cast column compared to ordinary wood columns. Fiber cast columns are weather resistant and water proof and can be used both indoors and outdoors without worry. They will not rot or dent whereas wood columns which are used outside, require more care and will not last nearly as long before they need painting, maintenance or replacing.
Our Tuscan columns can also be used inside the home and are reminiscent of the architecture found in the Tuscan region of Italy. The House of Fine Carpentry currently offers the Tuscan Fiber Cast Columns in an 8, 10 and even 12 inch diameter size with a smooth finish. Each column comes with the mounting hardware required for installation as well as the Tuscan Capital and Base. Fiber cast columns are easy to work with and can be cut with any hand saw. They come unfinished and will accept any good quality paint or faux finish readily.
